Mykonos is one of the most famous of the beautiful Greek islands. It is also one of the most popular vacation destinations in all of Greece, and as such is visited by thousands of people from all over the world each and every summer.

Mykonos combines its appealing natural setting with its many beautiful beaches with a rich and vibrant entertainment scene that includes many excellent nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and cafés. Particularly popular with tourists are the many well-organized beach bars spread around the island. In Mykonos you will find many accommodation options to choose from, including luxury hotels and resorts to more intimate family run affairs.

The beautiful capital of the island, Mykonos Town (or Chora), will enchant you from the very first moment you arrive with its distinct identity. As you stroll around its narrow paved streets you’ll discover a vibrant city with many unspoiled traditional corners, numerous elegant restaurants, bustling street cafés, and luxurious shops.

Visit  the Old Port of Mykonos and choose from one of its many fine seafront cafés to enjoy your first coffee of the day! The beautiful view of the sea and the Cycladic buildings all around you make this an especially rewarding experience, especially if you add a tasty sweet treat.

The port area is also well-known for its spectacular Cycladic architecture, too. Here you’ll be amazed at the picture-perfect white houses, all the more beautiful for the spectacular blue Greek sky! It’s certainly a unique picture that will stay forever in your heart.

A great way to explore the island is to rent a car. If you do you will be rewarded with the chance to visit many quiet and isolated beaches at which to cool down which are not normally visited by tourists. And, of course, there are great beach bars everywhere.

Mykonos is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and developed of the Greek islands, and it’s no coincidence that its name is world famous – so famous, in fact, that every year many celebrities select Mykonos for their  holidays, and can be seen from time-to-time around the island. While it is also no coincidence that its name has been forever linked to luxury holidays, one can certainly have a great and affordable vacation experience on the island, too.

So now it’s your turn to visit Mykonos and discover why it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. You won’t regret it!
